Agios Thomas Beach
The beaches in Agios Thomas is located near the village of Karavados, only 15 kilometres away from Argostoli. The long stretch of the coast in Agios Thomas is divided into two beaches. Both of them are surrounded by lush greenery and breathtaking views of the Aegean Sea. The first beach on the coast has soft sand, has a quaint tavern and is relatively smaller. The second beach, on the other hand, is larger, accessible only through a rocky stretch and is a popular site for sunbathing. This beach is equipped with more facilities such as a changing rooms, parking space, sunbeds for rent and a snack bar.
Both the beaches have the signature calm crystalline waters that Greece is known for. Moreover, the depth of water is relatively shallow and warm, making them ideal for swimming and playing in the water. You can also snorkel in either of the beaches and observe the stunning underwater rock formations. The beaches here are perfect for families looking for a picnic and some splashing at the beach. Agios Thomas is also a popular spot among divers, as diving equipment can be rented on its beaches easily.

Alaties Beach
Alaties Beach is a small hidden inlet surrounded by rocks and lush green forest mountains. It is located in the Errisos region on Kefalonia Island and is a 20-minute drive from the famous Fiscardo fishing village. The beach is famous for its salt accumulations and shallow rock pools for a natural hot salt bath. Snorkelling and scuba diving are popular water sports that should be enjoyed with caution due to the strong water currents.
Climb down a few stairs from the nearby parking lot to access the beach. A small tavern and a few changing rooms are the only facilities available here. Carry your own parasols, sunbeds, towels, and diving equipment as there are no facilities on the beach.

Antisamos is a curved blue flag beach located 3 km from Sami village on the island's east coast. It is filled with beautiful white pebbles and surrounded by green limestone hills full of pine trees. The waters are clear enough to observe fishes, thus making it a great snorkelling spot. A watersports facility offers many adventurous activities such as wakeboarding, Jet Skiing, Banana boating, canoeing, and many more.
It is also known for being the venue of some of the scenes of the Hollywood movie Captain Corelli’s Mandolin. It is accessible via cars and scooters and is a popular spot for many Kefalonia boat tours. The 18th-century monastery of Panagia Aprilia is a few km from the beach.

Argostoli Harbour
Argostoli harbour, on the bay of the capital city of Argostoli, is one of the few natural harbours in Greece. The picturesque harbour includes cruises, fishermen's boats, palm trees, and a black-and-white pebbled promenade area. It is the center of all the town's commercial activity and is constantly bustling with life. It is popular for romantic evening strolls and has a nice walking and cycling area.

Castle of Agios Georgios
The Venetian Castle of Agios Georgios, also known as the Castle of Kefalonia, is the oldest mediaeval castle on Kefalonia island. It is located over the village of Peratata and is 7 km from the capital town of Argostoli. Towering walls, a few buildings, and cobblestone streets are all that remain of the once-enormous castle. The hike around the castle is steep but it is accessible via cars or scooters. Enjoy a scenic view of the island of Kefalonia from the top.
Over the years, it was destroyed by wars and earthquakes. The castle was built during the Byzantine Empire in the 12th century. During its prime years, it was the ancient capital of Kefalonia till 1757 AD, with a city within its fortifications. The capital city within the castle included prisons, residential and public buildings, tanks, reservoirs, barracks, watchtowers, and churches. The ruins of the Catholic Church of Saint Nicholas are close to the castle. There are several cafes, restaurants, and a souvenir shop on the hill as well.

Dafnoudi Beach
Dafnoudi Beach is one of Greece's most scenic and isolated beaches, located at the northern end of Kefalonia island, 5 km from the Fiskardo fishing village. The shore is made of white pebble stones and mesmerising emerald waters. The coved beach has a small cave providing shade from direct sunlight and is surrounded by a lush green coniferous forest.
Visitors can enjoy a short hike down an 800m steep trail through the dense forest to reach the beach at the foot of the slope. Mediterranean monk seals can be spotted on the beach sometimes. Several eateries specialising in traditional Greek cuisine are at a short distance. Carry your own food, sunbeds, and towels as there are no facilities on the beach.

De Bosset Bridge
The De Bosset Bridge is the world’s longest stone bridge built across the sea, located on the harbour of Argostoli, the capital of Kefalonia Island. The 700m long causeway stands between the Koutavos lagoon and the natural Argostoli harbour. Enjoy a stroll or cycling session across the bridge, even at night. Visitors can see a small four-sided tapering monument called the Kolona Obelisk or the column.
The bridge was constructed and named after a British officer, Phillip De Bosset, in 1812. The original bridge made out of wood was destroyed in an earthquake. Explore the charming Argostoli harbour across the bridge with its beautiful palm trees, cruise ships, and promenade area. Ride a pedal or electric boat and see the famous sea turtles from one of the fishing boats in the harbour. Fanari Beach and lighthouse are nearby. There are many stores, bars, and restaurants near the bridge.

Drogarati Cave
Drogarati Cave is a 150 million years old cave close to Melissani lake on the eastern coast of Kefalonia. It is famous for its shard-like pointed limestone formations called stalactites and stalagmites, which emerge from the top and bottom of the cave. These natural geological formations result from water dripping from the ceiling, which falls and hardens over time. Several concerts and events are held in the main hall within the cave called the Chamber of Exaltation due to the exceptional acoustics of the site. The caves are open in summer from May to October.
The Royal Balcony is a natural platform within the cave that provides a panoramic view of the entire cave. Climb down the built-in stairs to reach the main entrance of the cave. An 18th-century earthquake shattered the cave roof, which led to its discovery. The 60m deep cave has a cool temperature of 18 degrees and is well-lit with a carpeted path. Several cafes are in the vicinity. The Melissani cave is also a short distance.
