Emplisi Beach
Emblisi beach is a small crescent-shaped beach on the northern side of Kefalonia Island. The white pebblestone beach is a 20-minute walk or 5-minute drive from the nearby Fiskardo fishing village. It is famous for its shallow, crystal-clear waters and is surrounded by mesmerising olive groves and lush green forests. The picturesque beach has strong winds and high visibility, making it a great snorkelling and scuba diving point.
There are no basic amenities except a changing hut, a beach bar and a parking lot. The beach is easily accessible via a car, scooter, or ATV. A luxurious hotel is located right on the beach. Kimila beach and several restaurants are present in the nearby Fiskardo village.

Fiskardo
Fiskardo is a historic fishing village located on the northern coast of Kefalonia Island in Greece and a one-hour drive from Argostoli. The village has a beautiful harbour and marina and still retains elements of Venetian architecture. A 16th-century Venetian lighthouse and a 2nd-century roman cemetery are two of the most famous historical sites in the village. Ruins of old windmills and a Basilica devoted to Saint Kerekas are must-visits. Enjoy a walk along the scenic bay of Fiskardo, lined with several seaside cafes, restaurants, bars, and taverns.

Foki Beach
Foki Beach is a coved beach located 1.5 km from Fiskardo village on Kefalonia Island, surrounded by lush green coniferous, pine, and olive trees. Although the beach is not well-maintained, visitors can explore the natural caves and bays along the beach. It is a popular family spot famous for its beautiful white pebbled shoreline and shallow waters with low currents.
The word Foki in Greek means Seals. The beach is named after Mediterranean monk seals that used to visit the beach and its caves. Private yachts along the shoreline offer full-day tours. Walk down the main road by the tavern to reach the beach. The beach is accessible via cars or yachts.

Fteri Beach
Fteri beach is one of the most naturally scenic beaches on the northwestern coast of Kefalonia island. It is surrounded by an enchanting forest on towering white limestone cliffs, which serve as popular freediving spots. The beach is made up of smooth white pebbles, which give a mesmerising glass-like effect to its crystal-clear turquoise waters.
Visitors can take an hour-long hike along the steep mountain path or a quicker 10-minute water taxi from Agia Kyriaki beach for 20 Euros per person. The beach is naturally well-preserved and secluded, with no facilities. Melissani Cave
The Melissani cave is a natural limestone grotto on Melissani lake surrounded by trees and forests. It is located on the east coast of the island of Kefalonia. The cave is divided into two parts connected via a narrow channel. The best time to witness the sunlight from the hollow area falling on the glistening crystal-blue water to make it sparkle is around 1:00 PM. The caves are open in summer from May to October.
Take a five-minute drive from Sami town to reach the caves. Enter a tunnel that leads directly to the cave entrance and take a 15-minute rowing boat tour. Located 20m below the earth’s surface, the hollow within the cave emerged as a result of an earthquake. According to Greek mythology, the Melissani cave was the cave of the nymphs. Remains of a temple built by the nymph Melissani was discovered here and are now on display in the Archaeological Museum of Argostoli. Drogarati Cave, Agia Efimia village, and Karavomylos village are close to the cave.

Ainos National Park
Ainos National park is the only national park on any of the Greek Islands located on the southwest coast of Kefalonia. Mount Ainos is the tallest mountain peak in all of the Ionian Islands. Some of the best hiking, trekking trails, and camping spots on the island are on the mountain, with mysterious lakes, caves, and rare species of flora and fauna. Jeep Safari tours are also available here. The Panagia monastery and an outdoor theatre are also located within the national park.
Mount Ainos National Park comprises four mountain peaks, including Ainos, Megalos Soros, Gioupari, and Monalati, all covered in dense forests of the rare black pine and fir trees. It was declared a national park in 1962 to protect the natural beauty and wildlife on Mount Ainos. The national park is renowned as the home of the rare Ainos Horses, wild goats, foxes, owls, and many more. All the trails lead to a mesmerising panoramic view of the island.

Myrtos Beach is a mesmerising 2 km long beach located in the Pylaros region on the island's Northwest coast. It is known for its white pebbled shoreline with electric blue waters, which give a glowing appearance. Myrtos beach is also one of the most beautiful sunset points on the island.

Pessada Beach
Pessada beach is one of the lesser-known beaches in Kefalonia, located close to the village of Pessada and 12 km from the capital city of Argostoli. The white sandy beach, with its crystal clear shallow waters and rich aquatic life, is a popular snorkelling point. Densely forested limestone cliffs surround the coved beach. It is a very accessible beach since there is a direct path to it. Climb down the 120-step stairway to reach the beach.
Large rocks scattered around the shoreline add to its scenic beauty. There are no facilities available here besides a small car parking area and a tavern. Carry your own food, chairs, sunbeds, towels, and snorkelling equipment.

Platis Gialos Beach
Platis Gialos beach is a blue flag beach located within 1 km of the resort town of Lassi on Kefalonia Island. It is a picturesque beach known for its calm, shallow waters and is encircled by enchanting olive groves and dense forests. It has basic facilities such as sun loungers, showers, umbrellas, and a snack bar. Other than a volleyball court, no water sports are available on the beach.

Sacred Monastery of Agios Gerasimos of Kefalonia
The Sacred Monastery of Agios Gerasimos is dedicated to Saint Gerasimos, the patron saint of Kefalonia. It is located on the plateau of Omalon, near Valsamata village, and is the most sacred place on the island. Worshipers visit the monastery to pray in front of the Saint’s relics, displayed in a glass chamber above his tomb. The church ceilings are adorned with biblical murals and an exquisite low-hanging chandelier.
Two caves where the Saint lived as a hermit for five years are at the back of the chapel. Tourists can climb down the ladder to visit the caves. The monastery also has an outdoor garden, which is home to a tree and a well said to be planted and dug by the Saint.The 16th-century monastery was founded by Saint Gerasimos, who was known for his miraculous ability to cure illness. The monastery also served as a charity centre. A newly constructed church is next to the chapel. Several restaurants, vineyards, and a beekeeping facility are near the monastery.
